The thematically conceived wine competition, which the Doudleby Chateau Winery hosted for the first time in 2024, aims to promote wines produced from interspecific (so-called. PIWI) grape varieties, thereby presenting their wide potential to experts and public wine lovers. We are convinced that resistant PIWI varieties are the future of viticulture and their popularity will continue to grow in the coming years in our region.at the same rate as in the countries of Western Europe, where PIWI (the acronym comes from the German 'pilzwiderstandsfähige Rebsorten') are successfully grown and sold.
