It is harmonious, reminiscent of the Blue Portugal variety.
Medium early blue grape variety. It comes from the crossing of Blauer Portugieser x Pinot Noir. It was bred at the Institute for Vine Breeding in Geilweilerhof, Germany.
The wine is of excellent quality, ruby to dark black colour, neutral to slightly aromatic aroma.
The grape is medium-sized, dense with a short stalk. The berry is small to medium-sized, round. The colour of the berry is blue-black, the flesh is colourless. The sprouting time is early. Resistance to fungal diseases is moderate. It is not damaged by frost. For relatively early ripening, it is also suitable for peripheral wine-growing areas. The yield of grapes is high.
