Thirteen is said to be unlucky in superstitious circles, but it will bring good luck to at least one winery on Thursday 26 January. It will learn that it has become the 13th winner of the prestigious industry competition VINOZOOM WINERY OF THE YEAR. The announcement will be available to watch online again from 6 pm.
The gala evening with the announcement of the competition results will be hosted by the Brno Observatory and Planetarium again. Traditionally, under the leadership of moderator Marek Eben, the name of the absolute winner will be announced, as well as the winners of the small, medium and large categories wineries that have most fulfilled the main idea of the competition in 2022, i.e. to surpass the common practice in the field and push it forward in the long term.
"The final is already a great achievement, which is quite a long way from the nomination, through the evaluation of the junior and senior juries, to the decisive visit to the winery and its assessment by the expert committee. This multi-level process allows us to perceive not only the impression a winery gives at first sight, but to get to know it in detail and to appreciate the really best ones," said PhDr. Martin Chlad, President of the Union of Winegrowers of the Czech Republic.
