"Wine is made by people". This is what distinguishes VINAŘSTVÍ MIKROSVÍN MIKULOV a.s. from other wineries. A winery living its own life, subordinating everything to nature, can be found in a more than idyllic environment. They are located in the heart of the Pálava Protected Landscape Area and Biosphere Reserve and the adjacent Dunajovice Hills. The philosophy of vine cultivation is based on a low load on the bushes, a gentle approach to nature with a maximum reduction of chemical inputs. Everything begins and ends in the vineyard. The special approach of the people is extremely important for the production of our wines. The vineyards are often located in places where it is very difficult for machinery to reach in bad weather, and this is where the irreplaceable human hands come in again. Our beautiful vineyards are located in the municipalities of Dobré Pole, Březí, Dolní Dunajovice and Mikulov. This means not only in the Pálava region, but also in the Dunajovice hills, less than five kilometres away, which are often neglected and overlooked simply because they are in the shadow of the Pálava landmark. But the wines from these beautiful locations can in many ways fully compete with the wines from the slopes of Pálava. The soils where our vineyards are located are higher in calcium with a higher skeletal content, and this gives our wines the uniqueness and distinctly different character of the Pálava terroir. Truly exceptional locations can be found in the village of Perná, where we grow the most important "Pálava" grape varieties on top vineyards. All the grape material is harvested gently and transported to the cellars for further processing at the appropriate time. It should be noted that nowadays the best grapes are harvested by hand! The best positions are harvested in small crates to avoid the slightest premature damage to the grapes. The grapes are then processed with the utmost care.
