About winemaker

Ludwig s. r. o. Winery brings quality Moravian wines from its own production and from Moravian vineyards under the brand Ludwig and Archival Cellar with an individual approach to the customer. The Ludwig 30. and Archivní sklep lines are intended for late harvests, the Ludwig Culinary line includes selections from grapes. André and Chardonnay, both late harvests, are aged in barrique barrels and feature an exclusive natural cork label, as does the Gold range for special wines, a wooden dagger label for Inflagranti cuvée and berry selections. Certified according to ISO 9001 and 14001.

Basic characteristics of wine

Pálava was cultivated by Ing. Josef Veverka by crossing the varieties Gewürztraminer and Müller Thurgau. Probably the best results are achieved mainly in the Mikulov subregion, in the vicinity of the municipalities of Perná, Pavlov or Bulhary, then in Lechovice, Popice or Čejkovice. Pálava is often automatically perceived as a sweet wine, i.e. with a higher residual sugar but this is not always the rule. In the dry version we discover the charm and beauty of this variety.
