The family winery was founded in 1996 by Mr. Luděk Vondrák. Gradually it was expanded from 1.8 ha to the current 15 ha of vineyards, which are situated on the stony-peat soils of the southern slopes near the Elbe River, which favourably influences their microclimate. The great advantage of the winery is the possibility to influence the quality of the wine already in the vineyard. From the pruning of the vines to the year-round care of the vineyard. All this in combination with quality European varieties leads to the production of top quality wines. The proof of this is the success of a young and hard-working winemaker, who in 2006 won the title of Champion of Czech Wines with Kerner 2005 grape selection-botrytische harvest and a year later defended the title with Riesling 2006 in the grape selection attribute. As a special feature you can encounter in Mr. Vondrák's winery are his successful botrytic selections from Riesling or Kerner. In order to ensure the expanded production of wines, the construction of a new production building was started in 2007, which will be followed in the future by adequate facilities for tastings or guest accommodation.
Pinot Gris is known all over the world. Pinot comes from the French pin as the pine cone resembles the shape of a pinot grape. Pinot Gris is also interesting by the fact that although it is a white wine, the color of the grape is almost blue, more precisely gray-blue-red. It is widespread in all sub-areas, mostly in the Velkopavlovice region.
