The subject of activity of the family business "Vinařství Zapletal" established in 1994 is the cultivation of grapes, production and sale of wine and developing wine tourism. The activity is based on a family tradition dating back to the early 19th century. This is evidenced by the historic grape press from 1818, which is still owned by the family. The winery is run by Václav Zapletal, who was joined by his son Jan after studying at the Secondary Wine School and MZLU in Brno.

We currently cultivate about 16 ha of fruitful vineyards. All vineyards are located in the cadastre of the town of Velké Bílovice, which falls within the Velkopavlovice wine sub-region. This area is climatically the warmest part of the Czech Republic. The climatic area and geographical location of Velké Bílovice is therefore very suitable for growing the best quality grapes, especially blue grape varieties. The Zapletal winery produces wine from its own grapes, using the original technology, for example, by fermenting the mash in vats and lying the wine in wooden barrels. The advantage is mainly the highlighting of the varietal character, vintage, bouquet and fullness of the wines. The winery supports ecology, which is why we are included in the integrated production system.
